With the release of Sitecore 8.2 Update 1, Sitecore has unleashed a number of new features and new experiences that can be achieved using Microsoft Azure WebApps. This is the first step towards a true Platform as a Service (PaaS) implementation of Sitecore utilizing native Azure products such as Web Apps, Azure SQL, the fairly new and recently made available Azure Search, as well as the introduction of utilizing Azure Redis Cache. The new Azure Web Apps implementation also provides the ability to fully install both a Sitecore Content Management server and a Content Delivery Server right from the Azure Marketplace!
